Business + Marketing > Where did you first hear about Squarespace?

A question for everyone here -- where did you first hear about Squarespace? Word of mouth? Personal recommendation from a developer friend? A Google banner ad? Someone's site you liked?

Very curious :)

It's a bit foggy, but I think I was in Dallas, and the Presidential motorcade was just passing by, but then everything went to hell in a handbasket..,.

From a web developer that told me there is no need to hire a build it from scratch developer anymore for most sites...that was over 3 years ago.

I wanted to try something else than wordpress and typepad and by (lucky) accident searched for blog or cms.

Played around with blogger then found you by searching the web for blogging tools, signed up for a demo, now have two sites with squarespace for 2 years now.

I found Squarespace in 2004 through a Google search if I recall correctly. Had a site with SQ for a while and left trying to use "free" alternatives but realized these free solutions were costing me too much in time for maintenance of the backend of running the sites.

I wised up in 2007 and now have one active site for my freelance comic book lettering, a site I maintain for my daughter's school PTA, and two other sites in the works.

I love me some Squarespace.

When I was looking to leave Movable Type I remember seeing an advertisement on Google when I was searching for "CMS".

ad at photoblogs.org. early 2007 i believe.

Way back when (dating myself) I saw an article about some student in a University that created a blog tool --- I was doing research comparing the various content systems available like blogger, MT, Typepad, WP etc. I found Squarespace and here I've stayed since then.
