Design + Coding > On Journal, when posting images, automatically resize them and when you click, full sized lightbox style images show up

Hi all,

Simply put, I'm looking for a way where you can do this very easily. I'm new to Squarespace, but I managed to do this in Wordpress fairly easily on their platform. An example would the first post you see at www.yumtastic.ca

I can batch upload (not sure how to do this in the journal yet), and then get them resized automatically, and then when you click on them, it turns into a full sized image via a lightbox interface.

Is it possible to implement the same thing with the blog/journal module in squarespace? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

Felix,

Check out the Squarespace Manual (there are links everywhere) and in particular this:

Creating and Using a Picture Gallery

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I was more thinking towards in the blogging/journal module. I know the gallery can do that, but what about in my day to day posts?

I am also looking for a way to do this.

I imagine there should be some way of having the default lightbox script called up when accessing an image in the Journal.

Clickable thumbnails are supported when Inserting an Image, in fact I remember using one once, in this blog post. Does this not work the way you want?

I think he is looking for a lightbox instead of a new window. Though that does look like the re-size functionality he wanted.

I would like that lightbox capability as well.

Not sure if this is what you're after, but here is something I've used before. I came across it in another thread...

When you want to insert an image, go to the html code and use this:

[a rel="sslightbox" href="IMAGE LINK_large.jpg"][img src="IMAGE LINK_small.jpg" alt="" /][/a]

Remember to change all [ to in the above code.

sorry - not sure how to make the little arrows appear in the post here! and I can't go back to edit my message.
I meant to say, change all brackets in the code I pasted, into the appropriate arrows.

Hope that makes sense.

" [ " change to " < "
" ] " change to " > "
