Hi all,

I'm looking for assistance to create the first site I've done that extends beyond the templates.

Here is a prototype of how I'd like the top half of site to look:

Note that while this screenshot shows a simple list menu, in the long run I'd prefer to convert it to a dropdown menu.

I've tried several approaches so far that seem dead ends. I'm looking for suggestions on how best to proceed.

I'm using this project to learn more about customizing Squarespace sites and apologize if this is just a bit too much like asking for DIY surgery instructions.

I can always back away to a more template-friendly design, but I'm really enjoying learning more about Squarespace.
