Can I just add another vote for ftp ? seriously... no no _seriously_ it's a must.
Looking into how I'm going to upload over a 1000 files right now. I didn't realize this fundamental flaw when I made the game winning recommendation for our organization to go with you guys. Now it's headaches in the future it looks like...

One more vote for FTP or something similar. If SS uses Amazon S3, why can't we access our storage areas like you can access S3?

Yeah, unfortunately as much as I like SS overall I'm gonna have to cancel my account due to the lack of FTP capabilities. It's just a handy thing when exchanging files and I can't justify keeping both my SS account and my regular hosting solution. Hopefully I can revisit it all again in a year or so and see how things are looking.

I 100% agree with the OP. I love Squarespace; it's the best web host I've ever used, but the lack of FTP is the one thing that annoys me from time to time. I understand Squarespace uses a unique architecture for building and managing sites, but surely FTP has to be possible.
