Features + System > Excerts with images
If i'm not mistaken I think you can take the link of the image you want in the excerpt and add it in there as an html link..
you can't add it like you normally would in the wysiwyg editor but at least it works ;)
hope this helps

Hi there,
You can include the image in your excerpt, you'll just need to include the HTML for the image. When you've completed your post click the HTML button in the upper right hand corner, and copy the image HTML as well as the text for you entry excerpt.
Paste all into the excerpt field.
Hope this helps :)

You can also, in the WYSIWYG window, highlight a portion of the post, including your image, to serve as your excerpt and hit the "Define Excerpt" button.
My tips are
1. Configure the journal to print the excerpt if there is one, otherwise print the whole post. If you don't get around to creating an excerpt with a picture, users will see your photo.
2. If you want the excerpt to be different from the main text, maybe a smaller thumbnail image for example, complete the post, save it, open it to modify again, and compose your excerpt on top of the existing post. Then select this, hit "Define Excerpt" and after the code gets copied to the excerpt field, delete the excerpt from the main text. You're just using the post editing window to easily line up your image.

I have a feeling this might not be possible. I create a new entry, and then I need to copy the text which I want to be the excert, under the more options button. That works perfectly, the only problem is that my posts start with an image and the image can't be included in the excert, so you have to click to view the full post in order for the image to be visible. How wrong is that ? Anyone who knows a solution ? Or is it just me and I can't find it ?
Many thanks.
