Hi Christy,
Think of Categories as an overall Topic/Theme of your Post, where Tags are little bits and pieces of it.
As an example:
If your Post is about Animals at a Zoo, you would add the Categories - "Animals" "Zoo"
Where the Tags would be - Tiger, Monkey, Lion, etc
or whatever different animals you are talking about within your post.
Hope this helps, and sorry for the cheese example.
Regards,
Michael
good analogy. i use the same technique. right now i'm building a catalog for a customer in SQ using the blog functionality. we have a category of "Car", and Tags like "Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Etc". same exact concept. what's nice is you can then use a specific URL to show posts from a specific category. you might be able to do the same with tags too, not sure though.
New user to SquareSpace. Can someone explain the difference between tags and categories and give me some simple use cases when you would use one classification technique vs. another? Thanks guys!
